This office provides excellent services and the highest quality of rehabilitation. The patient’s visits start with an initial examination with Dr. Robert Agee, MD. From the examination Dr. Agee develops a detailed narrative medical report: medical evidence, history of injury, a detailed description of findings on examination, results of X-ray or lab tests, diagnosis and recommendations for continued treatment, plus a well-reasoned medical opinion on the crucial issue, the causal relationship between your condition and your work injury, and medical reasoning for any restrictions, with supporting documentation.
Dr. Robert Agee, MD, is the treating physician who prescribes treatment for the patients. Dr. Donovan Harper D.C. and Dr. Amir Davijani D.P.T. provide physical therapy under the direction of Dr. Agee.

Treating physician. Board-certified family practice physician, fellowship trained in sports medicine (American Sports Medicine Institute, Birmingham). Every patient starts with his exam and narrative medical report.

A DOL doctor is a physician or other provider enrolled with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP) to treat federal employees injured on the job and bill DOL directly under FECA. "DOL doctor" and "OWCP doctor" mean the same thing. The Department of Labor does not certify doctors; providers enroll with OWCP.
Federal Injury Centers has DOL doctors at four Alabama clinics: Birmingham (Bessemer), Montgomery, Huntsville and Mobile. Call (205) 425-5428 or request an appointment. You can also search OWCP's enrolled providers at owcpconnect.dol.gov.
No out-of-pocket expenses for covered care. All services are billed to the U.S. Department of Labor in compliance with FECA. If you have questions about a bill or an unaccepted claim, our team will explain your options before treatment.
Time. A CA-1 is for a traumatic injury that happened during one work shift; a CA-2 is for an occupational disease that developed over more than one shift. Only CA-1 claims filed within 30 days qualify for up to 45 days of continuation of pay.
When you first get hurt you are involved in an adjudication process with the OWCP. You must prove your case. You can not rely on your agency or just your union to help. The OWCP requires specific, factual and MEDICAL EVIDENCE before they will accept your claim: a doctor's report that gives a diagnosis and explains how your work caused or aggravated it.
